Freelance

FLICKER. This was one of the first PC slide shows ever written, developed over several years into a finished product. Program included hand coded screen drawing and display routines, numerous fades, cut and paste, a complete language with variables and subroutines, compression, hard coded fonts, an interactive editor, and context–sensitive help. Product was marketed as shareware.

Freelance Accounting. A complete project tracking, scheduling and costing system developed for personal use. System platform is Microsoft Access.

 

 

Aoraki Corp.

Tools Development. Successfully converted the documentation facility to SGML. This involved assembling a suite of tools from several vendors, writing utilities (Pascal) for document conversion, and converting an extensive library to SGML. All procedures were documented.

Datapro Research

Tools and Utilities Development. Created a variety of programs and utilites for communicating with the corporate database, downloading, and formatting information for editorial use. Development in Basic and Pascal.

Okidata

Image Database Program. This project involved creating a database system for scanned graphics. Program was written entirely in Pascal, with hand coded printing routines for IBM and Epson printers, CGA and Hercules displays, an ISAM routine, and specially written compression routine to store partial images online. Read–in was from an unusual (WIPS) scanner system, and images had to be decoded.

Image Translation Program. This was a program to translate graphics from a proprietary format (WIPS) to PCX.
